02.04.-31.05.2024 | Closure of B3400 affecting Basingstoke to Oakley service 11 and Basingstoke to Andover service 76 | From 2nd April the B3400 between Worting and Overton will be closed at various times for works to the road surface.The initial phase of works between Worting and Fox Lane is booked to take place off peak (0930 to 1600 and 1830 to 2000) on two days from Wednesday 10th April. There will then be overnight closures for resurfacing between 2000 and 0600 on 3 nights, currently expected to be after 31st May. Service 11 between these times will operate via Fiveways and Pack Lane to reach Oakley. Service 76 will divert after Overton via the A303 and will not serve stops between Overton and Basingstoke Centre. The next phase of works beyond Oakley towards Dean Gate are due to take place between 0500 and 2200 on 4 days after 25th April. However the road will be open 0700 to 0930 and 1600 to 1830 each day. 30.08.2023-31.10.2024 | Botley Road Rail Bridge Closure | Network Rail are working towards replacing the Botley Road rail overbridge. As a consequence the Botley Road in Oxford City Centre is closed to all vehiclular traffic, initially for 6 months but recently extended until the end of October 2024. A few bus services will divert via the Abingdon Road and the A34 but most services will be truncated. The terminus on the eastern side of the bridge will be the Rail Station or Frideswide Square, the terminus on the western side will be Osney Island. For people less-abled to make the 350 metre walk between these stops a free shuttle bus will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, hourly between 10 AM and 2 PM. Pick-up and set-down points are the West Oxford Community Centre, Seacourt Bridge (both on Botley Road) and Frideswide Square. Called the Botley Road Flyer it will be operated by Comet. |
